The Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) is a 2.56 meter telescope located at Roche de la Muchachos, La Palma, at 2400 meters' altitude. Situated at a somewhat higher altitude than most other telescopes at the observatory, the weather conditions (the "seeing") at the NOT are often better than at the other telescopes, which may be covered in clouds or mist.
I've been at the NOT several times, either just for observing or teaching at observing summer schools for students.
